What’s new? Flipkart, India’s e-commerce giant, and eDao, a Polygon-incubated Web3 entertainment firm, have launched a joint project that allows customers to pay for purchases in the Flipverse metaverse, Polygon’s official blog posted the news.
What else is known about the project? The launch of Flipkart’s Flipverse metaverse on the Polygon network is aimed at stimulating customer activity by gamifying the shopping process and using loyalty programs. Major brands such as Puma, Noise, Nivea, Lavie, Tokyo Talkies, Campus, VIP, Ajmal Perfumes, and Himalaya are already known to support the project. Users can create their digital avatars and interact with their favorite brands by buying products or exchanging loyalty points for various collectible digital items.
Earlier, Suresh Kumar, chief technology officer of the largest US retail chain Walmart, said that cryptocurrencies would become an important part of online and offline retail transactions, as they would be used more often on social networks and metaverses to pay for goods and services.
On September 1, M.Video was the first company in Russia to open an electronics store in the metaverse. The project is a virtual showroom of digital innovations and technologies combined with the gaming space.
