What’s new? The team at blockchain analytics platform Arkham Intelligence will launch spot cryptocurrency trading on its own Arkham Exchange in 17 US states on March 1. This includes Colorado, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Wyoming, Wisconsin, California, Massachusetts, and Montana.
What else is known? Arkham Intelligence first announced the launch of a spot crypto exchange in the United States in November 2024. At that time, it was noted that users would not be able to participate in trading unless authorized by the laws of their state.
On November 6 last year, Arkham had already launched a perpetual futures exchange based on the largest stablecoin USDT from issuer Tether for customers outside the US.
The launches are part of the company’s strategy to find alternative monetization methods that will keep the core features of the Arkham Intelligence analytics platform free.
On this platform, users can track crypto transactions and wallets, including those associated with large companies and even governments. It is one of the most popular platforms for collecting on-chain data and conducting research that can have public value and potentially influence the movement of the crypto market.
The company also has Arkham Intel Exchange, a platform for trading on-chain data. With its help, analysts can receive payments for searching for information based on user requests. Payments are made in ARKM native tokens.
ARKM ranks 250th in the overall cryptocurrency market capitalization ranking with over $260,8 million in market capitalization and is trading at $0,7017. Amid the news of the launch, the asset added 12% over the day. At the same time, its value has fallen by more than 73% from the six-month high reached in early December 2024 at $2,63.
The launch of a spot crypto exchange in the US will allow Arkham to compete with other dollar-backed exchanges such as Crypto.com and Coinbase. These platforms together account for 85% of this market.

Last week, Arkham awarded an award of ARKM 50 000 to an anonymous blockchain analyst under the nickname ZachXBT for investigating the $1,46 billion hack of crypto exchange Bybit. He linked the attack to the Lazarus hacker group, which is involved in funding the DPRK’s weapons program.
