What’s new? Crypto exchange Bittrex will completely shut down operations on the global market on December 4 this year at 18:00 UTC, in connection with which customers were urged to withdraw funds as soon as possible. Thus, after the trading activity stops, users will only be able to get their funds back as part of the official process of winding down the business. The management of Bittrex Global assured that all assets are safe.

What else is known? The exchange’s team urged not to make deposits to avoid losing funds. Users should complete all transactions by December 4, as all activity on the platform, except for the withdrawal function, will be disabled later. At the same time, customers of the global platform will not be able to withdraw funds in US dollars and will need to convert to euros or cryptocurrency before the deactivation.

Currently, there is no deadline for customers to withdraw funds from Bittrex Global, however, the platform’s team recommended doing so as soon as possible, as the deadline may be set by liquidators at a later date.

Referral program rewards and various discount promotions have already been discontinued. The rewards for deals made before November 19 will be paid in the coming days.

The exchange warned about possible phishing attacks and emphasized that official emails are never sent to users in messengers or personal messages in social networks, and Bittrex officially uses only three domains for email correspondence: @bittrex.li, @bittrex.bm, and @bittrexglobal.combittrex.com.

In October, Bittrex received US court approval to wind down its local business. The exchange filed for bankruptcy after securities regulators accused it of operating without registration. At the same time, the platform remained solvent and returned funds to clients even before the filing. At the time, the team assured that the decision to close the US division would not affect the work of Bittrex Global.
