Broker Robinhood launches crypto trading in Hawaii, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico

What’s new? Online broker Robinhood has launched cryptocurrency trading services in Hawaii and the Virgin Islands, as well as Puerto Rico. Thus, cryptocurrency trading on the Robinhood Crypto platform has become available across the United States, according to the official X-account.

What else is known? In Q1 2024, crypto trading volumes on Robinhood grew by 224% to $36 billion. In May, the broker launched localized apps and staking services of the Solana (SOL) blockchain’s native token in Europe.

That same month, the company announced a $1 billion buyback of its own securities from shareholders as it grew its business and cash flow.

Robinhood shares under the ticker HOOD are trading at $22,6 on the Nasdaq, having lost 0,83% overnight. Monthly growth amounted to 2,97%, while the value of the securities has increased by 77% since the beginning of the year.

On July 1, Robinhood announced the acquisition of Pluto Capital, an artificial intelligence-based analytics platform that offers customized investment strategies.

Pluto also provides a variety of real-time data, including news articles, stock prices, company financial reports, and filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The platform’s functionality will become available to Robinhood users through the integration.
