What’s new? Mobile payments service Cash App launches a new feature that will allow users to pay in bitcoins. During a speech at the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami, Cash App’s crypto product lead Miles Suter stated that customers of the service will be able to convert fiat money into cryptocurrency directly through the app for free.
What else did Suter say? The Cash App representative announced another feature, Bitcoin Roundups. With it, the app’s users will be able to round up the amount of the transactions to a whole dollar and convert the difference into BTC.
“Bitcoin Roundups is an easy and completely free way to auto-invest your spare change from your Cash Card transactions into Bitcoin,” Suter clarified.
He also said that the Cash App customers will be able to send BTC and pay using the Lightning Network payment protocol.
What is Cash App? It is a peer-to-peer payment application developed by Jack Dorsey’s company Block (formerly Square). It was previously reported that Block, together with Tesla and Blockstream, started building a cryptocurrency mining data center using renewable solar energy.
