What’s new? The Japanese e-commerce giant has announced the launch of its own NFT marketplace. The company decided to make this move due to the growing trend of cryptocurrency adoption in the land of the rising sun. The platform will be available from 2023.
What is known about the new marketplace? The platform will allow users to buy and sell non-fungible tokens in areas ranging from sports to cinema. The owners of intellectual property will be able to create their own pages for coining and issuing NFTs, and various payment methods will be available.
The company has announced collaborations with famous manga artist Hiroshi Kurogane, TV Asahi Corporation, and the j-pop group Under Beasty to produce exclusive collections. In March 2021, Rakuten made it possible for clients to pay with cryptocurrency at various stores and businesses.
