What’s new? The OpenSea NFT marketplace has started blocking users from Russia. Tech support reports that all collections and tokens of blocked platform clients will be deleted, and other users will also not be able to access them either, BitsMedia reports citing its sources.
What else is known about the blockages? The wallets of blocked clients that were connected via the API marketplace are no longer available. The platform’s tech support team, when asked about the blocking, writes:
“Your account has been blocked because it contradicts our terms of service. This means that you will no longer have access to your OpenSea account. Your collections and any items in those collections have been removed from the list and will not be available to other users.”
The platform does not provide specific explanations or links to the broken rules.
Russian clients of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase also began to restrict access to the platform. The blockages affected those who stored more than €10 000 in the wallets of the exchange. Such users had to withdraw all funds from the platform by May 31, 2022.
