What’s new? TRON blockchain founder and head of crypto exchanges HTX and Poloniex, Justin Sun, has filed a lawsuit against Bloomberg in Delaware District Court. He accuses the news agency of violating a confidentiality agreement and preparing to publish the exact composition of his cryptocurrency portfolio.
What else is known? The conflict began when Bloomberg attempted to include Sun in its Billionaires Index, a daily updated ranking of the world’s 500 richest people.
According to the lawsuit, Sun agreed to provide information about his assets only after Bloomberg gave repeated written and verbal assurances that the information about his cryptocurrency assets would remain confidential. It would only be used to confirm his net worth.
According to Sun, the editors agreed to restrict access to the data and delete it after verification. He also reviewed other profiles in the index and found no precedents for publishing coin breakdowns unless the data had previously been made public.
The lawsuit alleges that the draft of Sun’s profile on the Bloomberg website, sent to him at the end of July, contained “numerous inaccuracies” as well as a detailed list of his crypto assets.
Sun claims that publishing this information would violate the agreement and put him at risk, potentially exposing him to hacking, theft, extortion, or even attacks on himself and his family members.

On August 2, Sun’s lawyers sent a letter to Bloomberg demanding that it disclose only the total net capital and broad asset categories, without breaking them down by token. Bloomberg responded that it intends to publish a detailed breakdown “imminently.”
By filing the lawsuit, Sun intends to prevent publication, and he also demands that Bloomberg cover the legal costs.
