Unified MMA will start paying fees to fighters in bitcoins

What’s new? Unified MMA, a US mixed martial arts sports association, has signed an agreement with Bitcoin Well, a technology company, which provides a secure way to buy and sell BTC. This partnership will allow the association to pay fighters a portion of their fees in bitcoin, Yahoo Finance reports. Unified 43 super lightweight winner Shane Campbell was the first to agree to receive a portion of his money in cryptocurrency.
What do the companies’ representatives say about this? Bitcoin Well founder and CEO Adam O’Brien stated that thanks to his project, large organizations such as Unified MMA can “access bitcoin seamlessly.” He added:
“Bitcoin, by definition, meets the properties as sound money, so it’s rewarding to see Unified MMA athletes being given the option to take their pay in bitcoin. Congratulations to Shane Campbell, on an excellent performance and being the first Unified fighter to collect a portion of his purse in bitcoin.”
Unified MMA President, Sunny Sareen added:
“The ability to be paid in bitcoin is the future, and I’m so excited to be a part of it.”
