What’s new? The team of the Etherscan blockchain explorer unveiled a new artificial intelligence-based tool called Code Reader, which users can use to analyze the source code of any smart contract. Code Reader uses OpenAI’s language model, which allows for in-depth code review by generating hints for specific sections and functions of the code.

How does the tool work? When entering a target request, the tool generates explanations for specific sections of the smart contract code, allowing a better understanding of its inner workings.
“This feature is particularly valuable when interacting with a smart contract for the first time, as it provides a thorough understanding of its operations and functionality,” Etherscan added.
The tool will also be useful for getting a comprehensive list of smart contract functions related to reading and writing data on the Ethereum blockchain. Code Reader can be used to learn code when integrating smart contracts into decentralized applications (dApps).
The Etherscan team warned that not all AI responses will be correct. Code Reader has been released in beta, and the team is gathering feedback on possible changes to the tool.
Earlier, several crypto projects announced the implementation of ChatGPT (a chatbot with AI from OpenAI) in their work. In June, the exchange Bybit added the ToolsGPT function to automate the analysis of market data. Analytics company Elliptic uses ChatGPT to improve risk detection in the crypto space. The Amy tool from the Crypto.com exchange helps users learn more about market conditions, prices, and key events in real-time.
The integration of ChatGPT into the Solana blockchain allows one to check wallet balances, trade NFTs, transfer cryptocurrencies, check transactions, interpret data and find NFT collections at minimum prices. The AI-powered tool from the analytics portal Dune converts code-based SQL queries into natural language to simplify the extraction and analysis of data about the crypto market.
