What’s new? The social network VKontakte may soon add support for blockchain technologies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), according to the Vesti TV channel. This was announced by the company’s CTO Alexander Tobol. As previously stated, a large social network Twitter introduced the ability to set NFT as a profile picture.

What else is known about the company’s plans? VKontakte has indicated its intention to use NFT as a tool to monetize user-generated content and protect copyrights.
“Platforms have already appeared, blockchain has appeared. And there is not enough of some kind of productive story to collect it all and move it to users. And here our task is precisely to provide the ability to download content, easily create an NFT token, and then place it on the exchange.”
The company will implement blockchain technologies to ensure the operation of non-fungible tokens. At the same time, according to Alexander Tobol, VKontakte will not develop its own network but will use proven solutions that already exist on the market.
