What’s new? On June 21, Cloudflare’s server network crashed, causing disruptions to the websites of cryptocurrency exchanges FTX, Bitfinex, and OKX. For instance, FTX representatives reported that the exchange’s pages were temporarily switched to “post-only” mode. Users received a “500 Internal Server Error” notification when trying to visit the platforms’ websites. The Cloudflare team fixed the malfunction two hours after the failure.

Information on the Cloudflare website

What preceded it? In July 2019, several major websites, including cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and crypto market data aggregator CoinMarketCap, suspended operations due to a similar Cloudflare failure.

Cloudflare is a network of servers to connect websites, which increases their download speed and protects them from DDoS attacks. It also provides secure access to resources and DNS servers.

On June 1, the developers of the Solana (SOL) blockchain halted the network operation for 4 hours. Validators began restarting the network only after disabling the so-called “durable nonce transactions” that caused the validation failure.
