How did events develop? Law enforcement authorities conducted a search, during which they found and seized system units, graphics cards, motherboards and hard drives. A criminal case was initiated under part 3 Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - major fraud or fraud committed through unlawful operations involving computerised equipment. Attackers face up to eight years imprisonment.
Also, police officers are checking the offenders for involvement in the commission of other offenses in the capital.
Earlier, the Irkutsk police initiated a criminal case over the theft of cryptocurrency mining equipment worth over 100 million rubles. The victims gave the hardware to fraudsters, as they offered to place it in a special “mining hotel” with low electricity tariffs.
